Valentina was discovered with a pack of stray/abandoned dogs nursing 9 puppies in January. We sprung into action to bring Valentina and her little ones to safety before an approaching deep freeze. Unfortunately they fell ill with parvo and required immediate medical intervention. Six of the 9 puppies survived, are growing strong and receiving vaccines. Valentina is their mom and a black shepherd is the father.

We discovered in the process that Valentina is mostly blind. It’s hard to tell because she makes eye contact with you when you speak to her. She likes attention humans large and small and lived peacefully with other dogs in the past. It’s a miracle she survived the streets in her condition with a litter of puppies in tow. Now let’s find this little treasure a home of her own!

UPDATE: Rose is doing great in her foster home.  She loves foster mama and cuddles on the sofa.  Rose would love a fenced yard but is learning to walk on a leash.  She is happy as an only dog in foster but also enjoyed playing with other dogs when she was in boarding.  Long Island, NY

Meet our Christmas miracle Rose, saved by her own Christmas miracles while sedated on the euthanasia table. Those miracles – her newborn pups!

Rose was surrendered to a high kill shelter by a family who simply didn’t want her any longer. Forgotten and unclaimed, she was marked for euthanasia. In her most dire moment, already on the euthanasia table with catheters placed and sedatives administered, an unexpected miracle occurred, she went into labor. This incredible turn of events halted the procedure, and her life, along with her unborn puppies, was spared in those critical moments.

 

The shelter wanted Rose and her puppies out immediately, even more heartbreaking was she still had the needles in her veins when they dragged her out to the car. Now, Rose and her puppies are safe under our care, but this is where the hard work begins. We urgently need your help to provide Rose and her newborn puppies with the care and nurturing they desperately require. Every donation will contribute to: Essential veterinary care and monitoring for Rose and her puppies. Nutritious food and supplements for their recovery, and a safe and comfortable environment for their rehabilitation.

Romeo was just saved from euthanasia in an overcrowded shelter.  It’s obvious he was someone’s pet.  He was wearing a bandana, walks well on leash and is well mannered with everyone he’s met so far.  Romeo is dog friendly but has no history with cats.  Please check back in for more information soon and help us find a home for our new lover boy!

Gracie was surrendered by a hobby breeder that became overwhelmed. She is estimated to be 6 years old and has spent her entire life as a breeding machine. She is rightfully nervous with the recent changes in her life but still sweet and learning to enjoy attention. We know she’ll adapt quickly once she feels safe in a home. We have rescued several of her puppies over the last few months and they are doing fantastic. Gracie would love a home to show her how wonderful life is as a beloved family member.

Welcome to rescue Tyke. He is out of this world cute! This little guy was found at an abandoned drug house and taken to safety by a local animal control officer. Tyke is 5 months old, 15lbs and is a fun-loving little pup! He is neutered and his cherry eye has been repaired. He continues to gain confidence and some much needed weight, and is blossoming into a real cutie pie. His future home would be one who can appreciate puppy antics, and is willing to deal with the ever changing needs of a growing and maturing dog.

Meet Koko. Dumped overnight in a rural shelter parking lot in a dirty crate with no food or water, and extremely malnourished. When the staff arrived in the morning, they found her trembling and curled up as far back as she could get in her crate. Her fear persisted for days in the overcrowded shelter until we were contacted by one of the workers who knew Koko deserved the best chance possible. We welcomed her! Look at this girl’s glow up! She’s now with her foster family and put on some much needed weight, received all necessary medical care and is thriving! Koko is respectful of the other dogs in the home and listens well to her humans. She is estimated to be 2 years of age, and would do well in a home with a male dog or as an only dog.
